There are some good examples out there of "trash management".

For those familiar with these roadside bags at one of the Queens Highway villages between Suva and Nadi, it's a great thing to see ONE village acting here. They're more advanced than Suva when it comes to keeping things clean.

I'm unsure why they need a bag for KAVA, though.

It should be noted that litterbugs begin at home. Unless and until kids are taught to not throw rubbish on the street, nothing will change.

Sadly, my youngest daughter (shown above but protected for MY own privacy) was caught red-handed throwing this very paper over the side of a boat about 10 minutes after this photograph was taken. She now knows the repercussions of such behavior, too.

Poor little girl. It should also be noted that she's probably the cutest little litterbug in the world but that will still win her no brownie points with me. It is, however, hard to be angry at her for very long.

I was driving behind this putz for about three minutes. He was a horrendous driver. Almost sideswiped a bus, two cars and lady walking with a stroller. This blog, however, is not about bad driving skills but instead, littering.

At some point, I watched a coke bottle fly out of the passenger window and land in an open lot across from the apartment block in Raiwai. That's where I took this picture. I swore out loud.

A few seconds later came the paper.

All in all, I counted five items tossed onto the street so I snapped a picture. Here it is and no, I didn't get a license plate. I was too focused on pulling up next to him and yelling that he should find a friggin rubbish bin. He looked confused.
